1 Male was imported from Africa as a juvenile. He is pinioned. Aprox: 30 years old. This species lives 50 -70 years I have pairs older than this bird that are active breeders still. He broke part of his upper mandible. He eats well, all food put on a raised pedestal. He is calm if not pushed, otherwise he retreats. Would make a good breeding male.
1 Male is 9 years old, parent raised. He is coming of breeding age now. He has broken both upper and lower mandibles fairly evenly, so picks up large food with ease. He is full winged and is not calm in close proximity. He does not want to be near people. He would make a good breeder male. I would not recommend keeping him on display as it would stress him. He does wonderful in a quiet setting.
